Water scarcity, which used to feel like a “somewhere else” problem, is now a genuine talking point in domestic policy circles. And funders, whether government or otherwise, are asking harder questions than before. They don’t want a nice-sounding strategy document. They want to know it’s built on something real.<\/p>\n\n\n\n That’s the whole idea behind evidence-based policy training, really. You stop guessing. You stop writing policy based on what sounds good in a meeting, and you start building it on actual data, actual research, things that can be defended when someone pushes back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This ties straight into the kind of public policy research UK institutions are increasingly leaning on.
